Med-Tech Awards celebrated the pioneers spearheading the future of Medical Technology and Bio-Science

On the final evening of Malta Week 2021, the Med-Tech Awards thank the best and brightest of the burgeoning field of Medical Technology and their tireless labour in making a healthier and happier tomorrow.

The Med-Tech Awards ceremony come as a conclusion to Malta Week by celebrating the dedication, spirit and humanitarian outreach of the leading mind in the industry. Treated to a lovely reception at Hilton’s Portomaso Lounge, sponsored and powered by Umana Medical, the nominees were hosted by the ever-welcoming presenters Trudy Kerr and Gylles Morrison.

These are the winners who took home an award last night:

Health Tech Innovation of the year: Exigy Lid
Mental Health Tech Product of the year: Calmsie.ai
Digital Pharma Product of the year: Muhdo Health
Health Tech Start-Up of the year: Virtonomy
Health Tech Leader of the year: Adrian Attard Trevisan of Umana Medical Technology Ltd
Health Wearable of the year: Umana Medical Technology Ltd
Best Use of Tech in Healthcare Education: Cognitant
MedCann Excellence Award:  Stephen Oliver from Canna Consultants
After the awards were presented, the SiGMA Foundation’s representative Keith Marshall  moved the audience with a speech reflecting the company’s commitment to aiding those in need around the world.
For those asking for the raison d’etre of the SiGMA Foundation, he answered “Ultimately the answer is simple, because we can, because we’re blessed with the gifts needed to take it forward.”
The event then moved towards an art auction, which featured a live bidding round in which numerous artworks were auctioned off for charity, with earnings going towards the SiGMA Foundation.
The dinner bringing the conference as well as the broader Malta Week 2021 to an end provided with delegates with a fantastic opportunity to unwind and network with other bright minds in the industry. With the second iteration (and first physical one) of Med-Tech World coming to a close, we can only imagine how this meeting of mind will come to shape the future of healthcare for years to come.
