Global Leaders Unite at ICI 2024: Spotlight on Israel’s MedTech Innovation
The ICI Meeting 2024, leading international conference for cardiovascular interventions and the high-tech life sciences industry, concluded on December 10 with an impressive turnout. Bringing together 440 global opinion leaders, participants from 40 countries, and 800 focus topics, the event reaffirmed its position as a hub for cutting-edge advancements in cardiovascular care and a key platform for global collaboration.
For over two decades, Israel has earned its title as a “start-up nation” in medicine, and the ICI Meeting remains a cornerstone of its MedTech legacy. This year’s conference highlighted Israel’s role in fostering transformative healthcare solutions through its vibrant ecosystem of physicians, entrepreneurs, academia, and industry leaders.
Levron Medical emerged as the grand winner of the ICI Start-Up Competition, sponsored by the DeHaan Foundation. The company received a $200,000 prize for its development of an innovative treatment for heart failure. This recognition highlights Levron Medical’s contributions to advancing cardiology and its potential impact on patient care.
The innovative spirit fostered by ICI has resonated worldwide, influencing events like MedTech Malta. Over the past two years, MedTech Malta has spotlighted Israeli thought leaders and startups, celebrating their contributions to healthcare innovation. Earlier this November, Amir Gross, CEO of Cardiovalve, and Jordan Pollack, CEO of VeinWay Ltd., both pioneers in advancing cardiovascular care, participated in a panel discussion titled Israel’s Role in Global MedTech Innovation at MedTech Malta 2024. The discussion highlighted the collaboration between Israeli innovators and international stakeholders. Furthermore, Amir Gross was nominated for and honored with the Leader of the Year award!
The ICI Meeting covered a broad range of topics from coronary interventions to AI-driven diagnostic tools with a clear focus: leveraging innovation to improve patient outcomes. The “Technology Parade” spotlighted emerging start-ups, many from Israel, demonstrating how this ecosystem remains a catalyst for global healthcare progress.
As the ICI Meeting 2024 concludes, MedTech World reaffirms its commitment to fostering global innovation, with a particular emphasis on the Israeli MedTech scene. Looking ahead, the team is keen to continue spotlighting Israeli contributions at future events, including MedTech Malta 2025, which will take place in Valletta from November 12–14. The event aims to bring together leading MedTech players, investors, and innovators from around the world.
