MedTech World Asia 2026 brought 950 delegates to Hong Kong from across the region and further afield, with startups, investors, healthcare organisations, service providers and industry leaders represented across the three-day event.
The newly released MedTech World Asia 2026 Ecosystem Intelligence Report takes a closer look at who was in the room, how they connected, and where the ecosystem is heading next.
Nearly four in five delegates came from Asia, which accounted for 79.41% of registrations, with participation also coming from North America, Europe, Oceania and the Middle East.
The audience included a strong mix of founders, investors, healthcare organisations and industry leaders, with 25.10% of delegates identifying as founders, CEOs, presidents or owners.
The full breakdown covers regional participation, seniority, and business type.

There was also significant activity away from the conference stage.
The MedTech Match platform recorded 2,480 meeting requests from 730 active users, with 410 meetings accepted for one-to-one partnering sessions. The figures offer a snapshot of activity around meetings and connections during the event.
The numbers only tell part of the story.
For Rafael J. Veraza, PhD, CEO & President of Vascular Perfusion Solutions, the event provided connections with entrepreneurs, regulatory contacts and potential partners as his company looked towards the Asian market:
“I left with real connections: fellow entrepreneurs building through the same stage we are, regulatory contacts who actually understood our pathway, and the relationships you need to expand into one of the fastest growing MedTech markets in the world.”
Jian Zhang, CEO of Noah Medical Corp., highlighted another part of the programme, pointing to discussions on medical robotics and opportunities to connect with potential clients and partners.

Feedback from other participants touched on market access, regulation, investment and business development.
Danny Yick, Head of Medical & Life Sciences BU at Defond Electrical Industries Limited, described the event as a productive business development platform, citing new relationships, potential project opportunities and future customer engagements.
Other participants, including representatives from Bird & Bird, Cooley and Roche Diagnostics, also pointed to the range of discussions and connections made during the event.
The 2027 outlook places the event within a wider regional shift.
Asia-Pacific’s MedTech market was valued at $16.3 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at 10.5% annually through 2030.
The region is also moving beyond its role as a destination for imported medical technology, with growing activity around AI-driven diagnostics, smart hospitals, cross-border investment, regulatory development and technology transfer.
Hong Kong sits within that changing landscape, connecting international companies with the mainland China market and the wider Greater Bay Area ecosystem. For companies looking at Asia, access to the right partners, markets and capital is becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation.
The next edition is expected to be considerably larger, with 2,500 delegates, 100+ exhibitors and sponsors, and 200+ speakers.
Cross-border investment, regulatory changes, manufacturing links and collaboration between international MedTech companies and Asian players are among the areas shaping the outlook for the next edition.
More of the underlying data, including audience and engagement figures from 2026, is available in the full report.
MedTech World Asia 2026 brought together a broad cross-section of the regional ecosystem, from startups and investors to healthcare organisations and established industry players.
