Dr. Andrew Agius graduated as a doctor in 2001 and has been working as a family doctor since then. Dr Agius specialized in family medicine in 2009 and has recently completed his postgraduate training in pain management.

Dr. Agius is the leading Maltese doctor advocating for a better understanding of the medicinal properties of cannabis and has been conducting research on the use of cannabinoids in chronic pain. In 2015 together with a team of professionals he established The Pain Clinic, an Integrative Medical Centre for the holistic management of persistent pain, where patients can be managed by a team of professionals and are offered all the relevant therapeutic options to help improve their quality of life.

Dr. Agius is also the founder of Kannatalim, an educational initiative on the use of cannabis as medicine and workshops for patients and carers.
