Dr Anthia A Zammit is admitted to the practice of law as an Advocate in Malta (EU) and is a Legal Consultant in the State of New York (US). Anthia earned her law degree at the University of Malta. For the past 11 years she has developed Malta’s only law firm focused on the laws regulating healthcare, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals. Anthia drafted the commercial agreements and terms introducing and implementing anti-corruption and anti-bribery provisions and procedures for leading pharmaceutical companies. Anthia was involved in drafting the medical cannabis regulations for the Malta Medicines Authority. She formerly served as legal counsel to the Malta Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare Business Section. In 2020 she contributed Malta’s chapter to The Life Sciences Law Review and The Healthcare Law Review, the first time Malta was featured, and advised one of the Covid-19 vaccine developers holding a conditional marketing authorisation from the European Medicines Agency and emergency use authorisation in the US.
