Mr Euan J Dickson
Euan Dickson is a Consultant Pancreatic Surgeon in the regional referral unit for complex pancreatic and biliary surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He also has a strong interest in emergency care and after gaining an MD he undertook a Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship at the Johannesburg General Hospital.
He was awarded the ASGBI Medal as the outstanding candidate in the final sitting of the FRCS Intercollegiate Exam in September 2006 prior to his appointment to the West of Scotland Pancreatic Unit in 2007. His subspecialty practice includes major pancreatic resections, the management of severe acute pancreatitis and advanced pancreatico-biliary endoscopy including ERCP and EUS.
In 2019 he was awarded the James IV Association of Surgeons Travelling Fellowship – one of the most prestigious international awards for surgeons. The primary focus of this fellowship was the management of borderline resectable pancreatic cancer.
His academic, teaching and research interests are in pancreatic surgery, trauma, ERAS and peri operative care. He has lectured and taught extensively in these fields and continues to publish and author book chapters on these subjects. He is the Regional Lead for HPB Surgery and Lead Clinician for Surgical Critical Care and the Pancreatic ERAS Programme.
