Pierre Galea
Pierre Galea is a community psychiatric nurse and works as a Charge Nurse of a community mental health team. He has been working as a registered mental health nurse for the last 22 years, during which he has worked in different mental health settings across Malta and the U.K., including in-patient settings, community mental health, crisis and liaison psychiatry.
He has completed a degree in Community Mental Health from Oxford Brookes University and worked as a community psychiatric nurse with the Oxfordshire Community Mental Health Team, the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team and the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Warneford and J.R. Hospitals in Oxford, U.K.
Pierre Galea has been the president of the Maltese Association of Psychiatric Nurses from 2016 until 2021, where he has published the Standards for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses in Malta. He is now the vice president of the association and a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.
