Health and technology innovators from around the world are being invited to take part in the Isle of Man Innovation Challenge 2026, a global competition designed to advance health and social care through digital innovation, collaboration and emerging technologies.

Now in its fourth year, the Challenge brings together innovators, Government, health providers and regulators to explore how digital transformation and new technologies can strengthen services, improve outcomes and support a healthier, more connected Island community.

Led by Digital Isle of Man and the Department for Enterprise, and delivered in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Care, Manx Care and Public Health Isle of Man, the programme offers a collaborative environment where innovators gain direct insight into real system needs. Participants have the opportunity to refine and strengthen their propositions in a responsible, practical setting, working closely with those shaping and delivering care across the Island.

As the world’s first entire-nation UNESCO Biosphere, the Isle of Man provides a distinctive testbed for innovation. Its size and integrated systems enable direct access to decision-makers and a supportive ecosystem where ideas can be explored with agility and intent.

2026 Focus Areas

The 2026 Challenge centres on three core themes:

  • Working Smarter – Reimagining how health and care services engage, connect and operate. This includes care coordination, intelligent engagement and streamlined administration that supports both professionals and patients.
  • Wellness – Empowering people and communities to stay well through proactive self-care, public health analytics and positive care journeys that prioritise prevention and long-term wellbeing.
  • Home First – Supporting care closer to where people live, including virtual care, community-based services and adaptable workforce models that enable more responsive delivery.

Innovators selected as finalists will take part in a structured programme of workshops, engagement sessions and mentorship. The journey culminates in a public showcase on the Isle of Man on 25 June 2026, offering finalists the opportunity to present their solutions to key stakeholders across health, care and government.

The Challenge is open to start-ups, scale-ups and established organisations with solutions relevant to health and social care systems. Finalists will be announced in April 2026

For innovators looking to collaborate closely with a forward-thinking health system, this is an opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers and help shape the next phase of health and social care delivery on the Isle of Man.

Applications close on 27 February 2026.
