Sheba Medical Center-Backed Mentaily Secures $3M to Scale AI-Powered Mental Health Platform

Mentaily, the developer of AI-powered tools for the assessment, triage, and diagnosis of mental disorders, has announced the closing of a $3 million seed funding round. The round was led by US- and Israeli-based family offices, with participation from impact investors The Rashi Foundation and Sheatufim, as well as several prominent angel investors in digital health.

Founded in 2024 at Sheba Medical Center’s ARC (Accelerate, Redesign, Collaborate) Innovation Center, Mentaily was created to address the growing mental health needs emerging from crisis and trauma. Its flagship product, LIV, simulates clinical psychiatric intake sessions through multilingual, natural-language AI conversations—via voice or text—offering a scalable, personalized solution for early diagnosis and triage.

Bridging the Global Mental Health Gap

The need for innovative mental health tools is pressing. In the United States alone, nearly one in five people experience mental health challenges, yet more than 120 million Americans reside in areas with inadequate access to mental health services. LIV aims to close this gap by enabling early detection of psychological distress, delivering insights that support clinical teams in prioritizing care and responding to high-risk cases in real time.

“LIV enables real-time detection of deterioration and high-risk situations, allowing clinical teams to intervene early, with precision,” said Iris Shtein, CEO and Co-Founder of Mentaily, in a statement. “By supporting clinical decision-making and optimizing workforce allocation, we help address the global shortage of mental health professionals.”

Developed in collaboration with the Drora and Pinchas Zakai Department of Psychiatry at Sheba, Microsoft, and KPMG, the platform reflects a cross-sector approach to health innovation. Already adopted by hospitals, HMOs, rehabilitation centers, and government bodies across Israel, the company now plans to use the funding to accelerate development and expand into select international markets.

Tailored Solutions for Populations in Crisis

In addition to serving the general population, Mentaily is collaborating with Israel’s Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D) and Ministry of Defense to support security forces exposed to chronic stress and trauma. Future iterations of the platform will offer customized solutions for additional groups, including children, adolescents, and women.

“LIV is a prime example of innovation born from clinicians on the ground, developed through collaboration with additional players in the ecosystem,” said Prof. Eyal Zimlichman, Founder and Director of ARC, Chief Transformation and Chief AI Officer at Sheba Medical Center. “Its ability to identify, prioritize, and assess mental health conditions with accuracy and empathy makes it a promising tool for health systems worldwide.”

Building the Team for Global Impact

The company’s founding team includes Iris Shtein, Guy Yachin, and senior clinicians from Sheba Medical Center—Prof. Mark Weiser, Dr. Asaf Caspi, and Dr. Daniel Cohen. With the new funding in place, Mentaily is actively recruiting across functions to support its next phase of growth.

As healthcare systems around the world search for effective, scalable ways to meet rising mental health demands, Mentaily’s AI-driven platform stands out as a timely solution built from clinical insight, technological collaboration, and a clear focus on impact.
