After graduating from the University of Malta as a Doctor and Surgeon Mr. Fearne pursued his studies in various hospitals in the UK including the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has worked as a doctor and paediatric surgeon for over 30 years and also lectured students of medicine at the University of Malta. In April 2016 he was appointed Minister for Health after holding the position of Parliamentary Secretary for Health since April 2014. In July 2017, Hon. Fearne was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.
