Marion Zammit

Chief Foreign Direct Investment Specialist at Malta Enterprise

Marion Zammit heads the Foreign Direct Investment Unit within Malta Enterprise, Malta’s economic development corporation. Marion holds a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Malta, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Distinction) from the same University. Her career has included various positions in the advanced manufacturing sector, including quality, production processing, as well as logistics and supply chain. Marion has worked and gained extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical Sector, having worked both in manufacturing, as well as, sales and marketing, wherein she devoted over a decade of her career. At Malta Enterprise, Marion has supported various sectors including Medical Cannabis, Pharma, and other projects of national interest. Over the past three years, Marion has been focusing specifically on the Medical Cannabis Sector, working very closely with all the stakeholders, in order to ensure an effective roll-out of the strategy for this new ecosystem in the Maltese Economy. In June 2021, Marion has been assigned the lead of the Investment Promotion Unit, hence a more prominent role in Malta’s FDI Strategy and its implementation. Marion has been invited to various International Conferences as a Speaker and has contributed to articles and interviews in various renown publications.

Cyndi Zhai

Founder and CEO at HiMed

Cyndi Zhai is a Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Mentor, CPA, EMBA, and RTTP-certified professional, and the Founder of HiMed and Partner of HiMed Medical Angel Fund, with over a decade of experience in early-stage medical technology incubation service, angle investment, and cross-border projects implementation consulting. To date, Joyin and Himed manages 22,000m² of incubation space, supporting 300+ startups and invested in 60+ companies. She actively facilitates Sino-UK and Sino-EU collaborations to accelerate medtech project localization in China and global expansion need of Chinese companies.

As CEO of MedTech Syndicates, Gavin Leonard leads a network of clinician investors dedicated to advancing the successful commercialization of medical and in vitro diagnostic devices. Under his leadership, the group identifies, vets, and invests in high-potential technologies that have the power to significantly improve patient outcomes.

Daisuke Tomita

PRESIDENT- Japan Oral Health Association (NPO) Medident

Dr. Daisuke Tomita specializes in digital healthcare transformation, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance medical care. Currently appointed visiting instructor at Stanford IT Technology. He has earned a degree in Leading Digital Healthcare Transformation from Harvard Healthcare Executive Education and holds a D.D.S. in Occlusal and Functional Orthodontics from Tokyo Medical and Dental University’s Graduate School. A graduate of Showa University’s School of Dentistry in Tokyo, Dr. Tomita’s research focuses on integrating digital innovations such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge Japanese technology to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare.

William Jin

Founding Partner at Mednovation Ltd.

William is a highly self-driven healthcare executive with successful track record leading MNC’s in China. His Healthcare Segments include Medical Device, and Pharmaceuticals with experience along value chain from General Management, to Regulatory and Medical Affairs, Sales & Marketing, and Business Development. William is the founding partner of Mednovation Ltd. He also takes a few advisor roles and director positions in MedTech domain.

Eric Woo

Director-Operations & Investment at Alibaba Entrepreneur Fund

Eric currently oversees operations and investments for AEF’s three funds. Prior to joining AEF, he spent eight years in the healthcare sector, working in large pharma, strategic consulting, and venture capital across Hong Kong and Singapore. He is a CFA charterholder.

Andrew Li

Vice President at Won & Ha Partners

A neuroscientist by training, Andrew is a business strategist shaping life sciences innovation across Asia. As Vice President at Won & Ha Partners, he helps startups with fundraising and go-to-market while advising multinationals on M&A. He was previously the Strategy Director at Cellomics, an oncology liquid biopsy startup, and a Strategy Consultant at Health Advances. His passion lies in bridging the gap between science and commercialization.

Jeremy Teoh

Associate Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Dr Jeremy Teoh is a world-renowned urological researcher with more than 400 publications. He has received numerous research grants with a total funding of more than 10 million USD. He serves as a consultant / advisory board member for several companies including J&J Innovative Medicine, Ferring, Astellas and Phase Scientific. He is also an angel investor for a number of startup companies in the MedTech field.

Rodney Kelly

Chief Growth Officer at HekaBio

 

Rodney Kelly has extensive international experience in health innovation, with a strong emphasis on improving patient outcomes and enabling market access across the UK, Japan, and Southeast Asia. He supports health and life sciences ventures through clinical validation, regulatory navigation, and global expansion, helping them align with local healthcare system demands. He has advised hundreds of early and growth-stage health tech companies, offering strategic guidance on partnerships, financial planning, and policy engagement. His work spans aging, digital health and chronic disease management, contributing to the delivery of advanced care models tailored to real-world needs. Rodney has created collaborative platforms that bring together stakeholders from public and private sectors, enabling knowledge exchange and cross-border innovation. He focuses on ensuring new technologies reach patients efficiently by supporting evidence generation, investment readiness, and regulatory pathways. His efforts have helped companies scale globally, access underserved populations, and collaborate with healthcare providers and insurers. By working closely with governments, he has contributed to building sustainable ecosystems that accelerate innovation adoption and improve healthcare delivery worldwide.

Founder, President & CEO at China MedConnect

Landon Lack is the co-founder and CEO of Legend Point Limited and China MedConnect. Their purpose is early stage MedTech investment as well as operational support for medical device companies entering and executing in the China market. Support includes world-class clinical studies, localized manufacturing, and commercial operations in China.
