France-based Lupin Dental has received UKCA certification for its Lupin® Robotic System, allowing the company to commercialize the platform across Great Britain. The milestone supports the company’s international expansion strategy, following its earlier regulatory clearance and commercial deployment in India.
The UKCA certification confirms that the system meets applicable regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and performance, enabling Lupin Dental to introduce its robotic technology to dental professionals and patients in one of the world’s largest dental markets.
“Today marks a pivotal step forward in our mission to expand access to advanced robotic technologies across major global dental markets,” said Dr. Galip Gürel and Dr. Stéfen Koubi, Co-Founders of Lupin Dental.
The company said the certification opens new opportunities for Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) and independent dental practices looking to meet increasing demand for restorative aesthetic procedures, particularly porcelain laminate veneers.
Founded in 2019, Lupin Dental develops robotic technologies to improve precision during dental procedures and help clinicians perform complex restorative treatments more consistently. The company’s robotic system is intended to guide dentists through procedures that traditionally require advanced manual expertise rather than replace clinical decision-making.
During a presentation at MedTech Malta 2025, Karim Tourbah, Chief Product and Innovation Officer at Lupin Dental, highlighted how robotic guidance could help expand access to minimally invasive restorative treatments by making expert techniques more widely available to clinicians. According to Lupin Dental, the technology has already been used in human clinical cases and has been integrated into early clinical workflows.
The company said the UKCA certification will also support continued clinical evidence generation as it advances its broader global regulatory strategy.
“This certification not only enables broader access to our technology but also supports our ongoing efforts to generate clinical evidence and accelerate our global regulatory strategy,” the company said in a statement. “We remain focused on expanding availability in additional markets while maintaining the highest standards of clinical and regulatory excellence.”
Lupin® Robotic System is not approved for clinical use in every jurisdiction. Product availability remains subject to regulatory clearance and local requirements in each market, with commercialization timelines expected to vary by country and region.
Robotics, AI, and digital technologies are increasingly influencing dental care and the wider MedTech sector. These topics will be explored at MedTech World Asia 2026, taking place in Hong Kong from 26 to 28 August, where innovators, investors, healthcare leaders, and startups will discuss emerging technologies and opportunities across the Asia-Pacific healthcare ecosystem.
