The wait is over as MedTech Malta 2025 officially begins, filling Valletta with excitement and anticipation. After a warm pre-conference day focused on networking sessions and cultural tours of Malta, Day 1 began with energy and optimism as Dr Dylan Attard, CEO of MedTech World, took the stage to welcome attendees and share his vision for the year ahead.
In his opening remarks, Dr Attard reflected on the community’s growth since MedTech World’s inception and unveiled an ambitious plan for 2026, centred on going bigger and reaching everyone.
“When we started MedTech World, our goal was to build a space where people with ideas, passion, and purpose could meet and create something bigger than themselves,” said Dr Dylan Attard.
“We’ve grown into a truly global community, but now it’s time to go even bigger. In 2026, we’re reaching everyone. Whether you’re in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, or the U.S., MedTech World will be there with you, building connections that matter.”

He added that the vision for MedTech World’s next chapter goes beyond geography; it’s about access.
“We want to democratise MedTech events. This means less elitism, more openness, and creating a transparent ecosystem where everyone feels not just the need to be there but genuinely wants to be there.”

Dr Attard’s announcement was accompanied by the reveal of the MedTech World 2026 Calendar, outlining the next phase of the platform’s expansion and a year-long journey across four continents.
Each event will serve as a local hub for innovation, yet together they form a connected global ecosystem where ideas, investments, and collaborations flow freely across regions.
As the morning continues, the atmosphere inside the Mediterranean Conference Centre is buzzing with anticipation. Delegates are preparing for company showcases, workshops, and panel discussions that will set the tone for the days ahead. From digital health to diagnostics and AI-driven devices, the exhibition floor is already coming to life with early interactions and discovery.
Excitement is also building for later sessions featuring key leaders and innovators, as well as government representatives who continue to reinforce Malta’s growing position in MedTech innovation and collaboration.
The day’s strong start follows yesterday’s networking sessions and cultural experiences, which gave delegates a chance to connect in a more informal setting while exploring Valletta’s historic streets. From walking tours to private meetups, it was a day that blended business with culture in true MedTech World style.
That sense of connection is carrying into today’s programme, where conversations about partnerships, funding, and international growth are expected to take centre stage.

The unveiling of the 2026 calendar represents more than expansion. It marks MedTech World’s commitment to creating opportunities for innovators everywhere.
As Dr Attard concluded in his speech:
“This is just the beginning. We’re not only growing, but we’re also making sure no one is left behind. Wherever you are, if you’re working to advance healthcare, MedTech World will be there with you.”
With the first day now underway and the crowd energised, it’s clear that MedTech Malta 2025 is not only celebrating innovation but also setting the course for the next global chapter of MedTech World.
