Lunit Signs Multi-Year Deal with SEHA for AI-Based Breast Cancer Screening Solution

Lunit, a global provider of AI-powered solutions for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, has signed a multi-year partnership with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare network. Under the five-year agreement, Lunit’s mammography analysis solution, Lunit INSIGHT MMG, will be rolled out across SEHA’s network of 14 hospitals and more than 70 clinics, covering over 3,000 beds.

This partnership follows a successful proof-of-concept (PoC) trial launched in 2022, during which SEHA evaluated the clinical performance and utility of Lunit INSIGHT MMG. The positive outcomes from that initial phase paved the way for this large-scale implementation, with the AI solution expected to analyze over 100,000 mammography images during the contract period.

Improving Early Detection Through AI

By integrating Lunit INSIGHT MMG into its clinical workflow, SEHA aims to enhance its breast cancer screening capabilities across the UAE. The solution uses deep learning algorithms to assist radiologists in detecting breast cancer, improving diagnostic accuracy and streamlining workflows.

“The UAE represents a key market in Lunit’s global expansion, and we are thrilled to further strengthen our collaboration with SEHA,” said Brandon Suh, CEO of Lunit, in a statement. “This long-term partnership underscores the trust SEHA places in our AI-driven solutions and reflects our shared commitment to advancing breast cancer screening and early detection. By leveraging Lunit’s cutting-edge AI, SEHA can enhance its radiology workflow, ultimately improving patient outcomes.”

SEHA, which operates under PureHealth, the region’s largest integrated healthcare platform, serves communities across the UAE, from urban centers to remote areas. The adoption of Lunit’s AI tool aligns with SEHA’s strategy to incorporate advanced technologies across its operations and supports national initiatives focused on early cancer detection and public health awareness.

AI in Healthcare Gaining Momentum in the Middle East

This deal comes amid a surge in interest and investment in medical AI technologies across the Middle East. The regional medical AI market, valued at around USD 200 million in 2024, is projected to grow to between USD 1 and 1.5 billion within the next 5 to 7 years. In the UAE alone, the AI healthcare market is expected to reach USD 137.9 million by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34.6%.

The role of AI in early cancer detection, diagnostics, and preventative care was one of the central themes at MedTech World Dubai 2025, during our panel discussion, ‘Revolutionizing Healthcare with AI: Smarter Data Processing, Diagnostics and Decision Making’. The SEHA–Lunit collaboration exemplifies the real-world impact of these advancements, setting a strong example for how AI can be implemented at scale to improve health outcomes.
