Med-Tech World partners with Malta Enterprise & Galen Growth for Startup Pitch

Startups could also win up to €500,000 in investment

Med-Tech World has announced a partnership with Malta Enterprise, Malta’s economic development agency with an investment promotion arm, tasked with attracting new foreign direct investment to Malta, and HealthTech experts Galen Growth. The companies will support the upcoming November Med-Tech World Startup Pitch competition which takes place during the Med-Tech World expo.
Galen Growth has defined 4 key themes for the competition which are the latest primary focus for corporations and investors:
– Remote Patient Monitoring
– Patient Adherence
– Clinical Trial Support Services
– Digital Therapeutics
Each promising digital health venture applying to participate in the startup pitch competition will be evaluated to assess the following key signals, namely:
– Is it digital health?
– Does it fit one of the 4 key themes?
– What market momentum has it achieved?
– How Innovative is its solution?
– Will the leadership team be able to scale?
– How does it compare to immediate competitors?
The Galen Growth evaluation will produce a shortlist of the most promising ventures which will then be further assessed by a jury. The winner(s) will be selected by the jury after the shortlisted ventures have pitched and replied to the jury questions.
The startup pitch offers up-and-coming startups crucial early-stage support, enabling them to bring their projects to fruition, offering coveted access to investors, experts, and mentors, as well as valuable exposure on the expo floor. A crowd pleaser, the pitch competition offers 10 entrepreneurial finalists the chance to pitch their concept to a live audience, and to a team of judges. Additional benefits include invitations to networking dinners and premium online exposure for their brand.

The SiGMA Group will also launch a new fund offering unicorn hopefuls an investment prize worth between €25,000 and €500,000. All startups taking part in Malta Week events, including Med-Tech World, SiGMA, AGS, and AIBC will be eligible to take part.
