MedTech World is proud to announce its partnership with SiGMA Foundation, the charity arm of SiGMA Group, for the upcoming Camino de Santiago Group Expedition taking place from 15 to 22 September 2025. This collaboration will support the Foundation’s Uganda Project, a humanitarian initiative aimed at building a kindergarten school for children currently studying in unsafe tents.

For the past six years, the SiGMA Foundation has hosted Camino de Santiago expeditions, with more than 600 participants joining along different routes. These challenges have combined personal growth with fundraising for impactful causes. This year’s walk along the Camino Francés route will welcome 14 members of SiGMA Group staff, giving colleagues a chance to connect with the Foundation’s mission on a deeper level.
“I’m here today thanks to the support of others and I’d love to pay it forward by doing the same for others. One of my deepest regrets when I stepped away from surgical training was knowing I’d never have the chance to serve in the countries that needed it most. Turns out, I might eventually get to do it with my friends and colleagues,” said Dr. Dylan Attard, CEO of MedTech World.

“Every step taken by our participants on the Camino represents a step closer to better futures for children in Uganda. By linking our adventure expeditions to tangible projects, we give both participants and sponsors the chance to see exactly how their efforts are making a difference,” said Jessie Busuttil, Operations Manager, SiGMA Foundation.

The Uganda Project marks the Foundation’s first initiative in the country. It focuses on constructing proper classrooms, sanitation blocks, and kitchen facilities, as well as developing agricultural land to support a sustainable feeding program. By replacing makeshift tents with safe and fully equipped spaces, the project will ensure children can continue their education, while also creating jobs and long-term community support.
“At MedTech World, we believe in the power of collective action — whether it’s advancing healthcare innovation or standing behind meaningful humanitarian causes. Joining hands with SiGMA Foundation for the Camino de Santiago expedition is our way of saying we are all in for this cause. We’re proud to support an initiative that is not only changing lives in Uganda but also inspiring all of us to step outside our comfort zones for something bigger than ourselves,” said Dr. Dylan Attard.

Beyond fundraising, the Camino expedition is designed to foster community building among participants, promote wellness and personal growth, and provide cultural immersion. By walking one of the most iconic pilgrimage routes in Europe, participants will not only challenge themselves but also contribute to a cause that is transforming lives thousands of miles away.
Those unable to join the walk in person can still make a difference. Individuals and organisations can participate by:
Every contribution, big or small, helps build sustainable futures for children and their communities.
