Momentum Builds Ahead of MedTech World Bay Area 2025 as Startups Set Sights on Impact and Investment 

As anticipation builds for tomorrow’s MedTech World Bay Area 2025 event, hosted in collaboration with MedTech Innovator, it’s clear that the momentum is already in full swing. Startups from the 2025 MedTech Innovator cohort are arriving in San Jose with optimism, energy, and clear goals: to connect, showcase, and secure meaningful backing for their innovations. 

Startups Arrive with Purpose: Visibility, Validation, and Venture Capital 

For many of the participating founders and innovators, this event is more than just a pitch opportunity—it’s a milestone moment. One such example is InSoma Bio, whose pioneering technology enables surgeons to use a patient’s own tissue for breast and facial reconstruction, avoiding synthetic fillers. Derek Nelson, a Research Scientist at InSoma Bio, is already immersed in the experience. 

“I am already making a ton of connections with a lot of smart people around,” said Nelson. “Getting to learn what the investors are interested in as well as getting them to see what we do and help them understand why we are doing what we are doing and how it’s going to make a big difference in women’s health and reconstructive surgery and aesthetics in that space. I am really looking forward to having these connections and hopefully some funding at the end of it.” 

Andrew Ortega-Verdaguer, CEO and Cofounder of IntelVasc, echoed the sentiment, noting how this setting provides a rare opportunity to be seen by the right people at the right time. 

“The investors really want three main things,” said Ortega-Verdaguer. “They want that you have a technology that is wanted by the payers and the users. You have a sound reimbursement strategy and you have clarity in the regulatory pathway that you are going to have. And we have checked all these three boxes at IntelVasc. So, I think that the feedback we have got so far and the momentum we are getting around the MedTech World is going to make many investors put their eye on us.”
