As preparations continue for MedTech World North America 2026, MedTech World has announced the steering committee members supporting the upcoming edition taking place from May 11 to 13 at the Hilton West Palm Beach. Bringing together expertise across digital health, cardiovascular innovation, investment, and healthcare transformation, the committee reflects the collaborative approach shaping this year’s event.
The steering committee will play an important role in supporting conversations around innovation, investment, emerging technologies, and the future of healthcare delivery, while helping ensure that the event continues to bring together voices from across the global MedTech ecosystem.
Among the announced members is Ken Nelson, Investor and Board Member at Nelson Jennings Ventures. With more than 25 years of experience across digital health, remote patient monitoring, and cardiac care innovation, Nelson has contributed to the commercial growth of several leading companies in the sector, including BioTelemetry, iRhythm, and Bardy Diagnostics.

His work has spanned leadership roles in startups, publicly traded companies, and large healthcare organizations, with a focus on advancing cardiac digital health technologies. Alongside his role at Nelson Jennings Ventures, he serves on the boards of multiple MedTech and digital health companies and collaborates closely with MedTech Innovator as a mentor and judge.
Also joining the steering committee is Patrick Wayte, Senior Vice President of the Center for Health Technology & Innovation at the American Heart Association. Wayte leads integrated digital health initiatives focused on scaling innovation across cardiovascular care, chronic disease management, and community health.

He also serves as national co-lead for the American Heart Association’s AI Initiative, supporting strategies around the use of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular and stroke care. His experience spans healthcare, telecommunications, and automotive industries, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to healthcare innovation and technology adoption.
Completing the steering committee is Todd Schwarzinger, Partner at Cleveland Clinic Ventures. With more than two decades of experience across healthcare investing, innovation leadership, consulting, and investment banking, Schwarzinger has worked extensively with healthcare technology companies focused on advancing patient care and supporting innovation across the sector.
