Synchrony Medical has closed an oversubscribed $5 million funding round to accelerate the commercial expansion of its FDA-cleared LibAirty™ Airway Clearance System, marking a significant step forward in at-home respiratory care. The milestone follows the company’s recognition as ‘Best Patient Impact of the Year’ at MedTech World Middle East, held earlier in February, a distinction that underscores the device’s growing clinical and patient relevance.

The round was led by Edge Medical Ventures, with participation from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), Broadfin Holdings, Consensus Business Group (CBG), and a group of angel investors. The capital will support U.S. commercial scale-up, continued clinical research, product development, and broader patient access.

Addressing a Critical Need in Chronic Lung Disease

For millions living with chronic respiratory conditions, airway clearance is a daily necessity to manage symptoms, reduce infections, and slow disease progression. Synchrony’s LibAirty™ system delivers therapy at home and has demonstrated the ability to clear twice as much sputum as conventional treatments, while improving user comfort and satisfaction.

Since its commercial launch in late 2025, the system has gained traction among both clinicians and patients, reflecting strong early adoption and tangible impact on day-to-day disease management.

“Announcing our $5M funding round, alongside being awarded for ‘Best Patient Impact’ at MedTech World Middle East 2026, serves as a powerful validation of our mission,” said Anat Shani, CEO of Synchrony Medical.

“This investment allows us to accelerate the commercial scale-up of our FDA-cleared LibAirty™ system, ensuring that high-quality, at-home airway clearance becomes a life-changing reality for millions living with chronic respiratory conditions.”

Strengthening Strategic Leadership

As part of this next growth phase, Synchrony has appointed Kevin Kotler, General Partner at Broadfin Holdings, and Elad Duschak, Strategic Advisor to CBG for Healthcare, to its Board of Directors, reinforcing strategic oversight as the company scales operations.

The financing includes $1 million from NJEDA through the New Jersey Innovation Evergreen Fund (NJIEF), co-invested alongside Edge Medical Ventures. Synchrony will continue expanding its U.S. team and operations from its Jersey City headquarters, strengthening its footprint in the state’s innovation ecosystem.

“Synchrony exemplifies the type of innovation we seek to support, addressing an unmet clinical need through strong clinical foundations and a clear path to transforming patient care,” said Shai Policker, Chairman of Synchrony and Managing Partner at Edge Medical Ventures.

“This demonstrates how Edge’s transatlantic presence, combined with the company’s execution capabilities, can establish a new standard of care and bring it to market.”

Vincent Tchenguiz, Chairman of Consensus Business Group, added: “As partners of EdgeLabs (formerly MEDX Xelerator), we are proud to support Synchrony from its early stages of development and witness its progress. We are pleased to continue supporting this high-impact medical innovation and help make it more widely available for patients.”

With fresh capital, strengthened governance, and international recognition for patient impact, Synchrony Medical enters its next chapter focused on expanding access to effective, at-home respiratory therapy for those who need it most.
