The Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed) has announced the appointment of Arjun Sarker as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing to the organisation more than three decades of international leadership experience across healthcare, medical technology, and global business.

Based in Singapore, Sarker assumes the role with a track record that spans the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, India, and the United States. Over the past 20 years, he has held senior leadership positions within the medical device industry, leading commercial growth, business transformation, and market expansion across multiple regions.

Sarker joins APACMed from Dawn Medical Technologies, where he served as Chief Executive Officer of a private equity-backed venture. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, International, at Avanos Medical Inc., overseeing the company’s international operations and growth strategy. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Covidien, which later became part of Medtronic, as well as Honeywell and Inchcape Plc.

A qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Sarker is also a certified executive coach. His background combines financial expertise with operational leadership and a strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystems that shape the Asia Pacific region.

As Chief Executive Officer, Sarker will lead APACMed’s next phase of growth as the organisation continues to strengthen collaboration between industry, healthcare providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. His appointment comes at a time when the medical technology sector is increasingly focused on improving access to innovative healthcare solutions, supporting sustainable health systems, and addressing the needs of rapidly evolving markets across Asia Pacific.

His combination of commercial acumen, operational rigor, and deep understanding of diverse healthcare ecosystems is expected to support APACMed as it expands its footprint, strengthens industry collaboration, and advances patient outcomes across the region. His leadership will also help create greater value for members, champion responsible innovation, and support growth across high-potential emerging markets.
