MedTech World officially kicked off its Hong Kong Roadshow yesterday at AsiaWorld-Expo, in collaboration with NovaX, bringing together innovators, investors, and decision-makers from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. This marks MedTech World’s first engagement in Asia this year, with the 2025 edition drawing over 300 startups from around the world and 500 international investment institutions to create a vibrant and opportunity-filled venture capital ecosystem. This new chapter reflects MedTech World’s mission to connect ecosystems and unlock opportunities for meaningful partnerships.
The event was formally opened by H.E. John Busuttil, Ambassador of Malta to the People’s Republic of China, and Dr. Dylan Attard, CEO of MedTech World. Both leaders welcomed the attendees, underlining the importance of international cooperation in healthcare innovation.

“We’re proud to see Malta represented on this global platform,” said H.E. John Busuttil, Ambassador of Malta to the People’s Republic of China, during his welcome remarks. “The MedTech World Hong Kong Roadshow is not just a symbol of Malta’s continued engagement with Asia; it is a practical demonstration of our readiness to partner on science, technology, and investment. Malta has always been a bridge between continents and today we continue to extend that bridge further into the heart of Asia.”
Ambassador Busuttil also emphasized the strategic value of MedTech World’s presence in Hong Kong, noting that “events like these reinforce Malta’s role as a base for companies seeking to expand into the EU single market of 450 million people and Southern Mediterranean markets.”
Asia’s MedTech sector is undergoing rapid growth, with the market projected to reach $225 billion by 2030. Positioned as a critical gateway to this expanding region, Hong Kong offers unique advantages to global innovators and investors:
These advantages make Hong Kong an ideal launchpad for international MedTech companies seeking to expand across Asia.
For MedTech World, today’s event marks a major milestone in its Asia engagement strategy. With previous Roadshows held in Dubai, Singapore, and Luxembourg, and a growing footprint across the US and Europe, the organisation continues to build bridges between global healthtech hubs.

“This collaboration with NovaX is the result of a shared vision to make global innovation accessible, inclusive, and actionable,” said Dr. Dylan Attard, CEO of MedTech World. “Hong Kong is a powerful stage for that vision. It sits at the crossroads of capital, innovation, and policy, and offers a launchpad for the companies ready to grow internationally.”
“We’re not here to simply showcase innovation. We’re here to help turn conversations into capital, research into reality, and connections into long-term collaboration,” he added.
