The day began with a Florida lifestyle experience aboard a brand-new catamaran, providing attendees with a relaxed two-hour networking session before the conference officially opened.
Networking has long been a core part of every MedTech World edition, and the West Palm Beach setting provided an opportunity for founders, investors, executives, clinicians, and industry leaders to connect in a more informal environment. Against the backdrop of Florida’s coastline, conversations moved naturally from business opportunities and partnerships to market trends and upcoming innovations.

Following the networking experience, the program transitioned into two parallel closed-door forums held at Canopy by Hilton, West Palm Beach.
Powered by Malta Enterprise, the CEO-Only Forum brought together a selected group of medical device startup leaders for candid discussions focused on the realities of building and scaling healthcare companies in today’s environment.
Participants exchanged perspectives on commercialization challenges, fundraising conditions, regulatory pathways, market access, leadership pressures, and the changing expectations placed on emerging MedTech companies. The private format encouraged open dialogue among founders navigating similar journeys across different markets and specialties.
Held simultaneously in a separate room, the Investor-Only Forum, powered by Greenberg Traurig, gathered representatives from venture capital firms, angel investors, family offices, corporate venture arms, and hospital investment groups.
The discussions focused on where investment activity is heading, how investors are evaluating healthcare technologies in the current market, and what sectors are gaining attention across diagnostics, AI, digital health, medical devices, and care delivery innovation. After a short break, attendees reconvened at the Mezze Restaurant within the Hilton West Palm Beach for the Pre-Registration and Networking Reception.

The highlight of Day 0 came later in the evening with the MedTech World North America 2026 Awards ceremony, held at the Oceana Ballroom at Hilton West Palm Beach.
Powered by Blue Goat Cyber, the awards celebrated the individuals and organizations contributing to meaningful progress across healthcare and medical technology.
With 32 awards and special recognitions presented throughout the evening, the ceremony reflected the breadth of innovation across the sector. The process combined more than 5,000 public votes with expert committee evaluations, ensuring a balanced and transparent selection.
The evening recognized founders, innovators, investors, clinicians, and ecosystem builders whose work continues to influence the direction of healthcare delivery, patient care, and medical technology development.
The celebrations concluded with a charitable auction, reinforcing MedTech World’s ongoing commitment to supporting causes beyond the conference floor.
Six pieces of artwork were auctioned during the evening, with proceeds going to SiGMA Foundation. The initiative added a philanthropic dimension to the opening day while bringing attendees together around a shared purpose of giving back to communities in need.
