As healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia becomes increasingly digital, the focus is shifting from isolated services to connected experiences that follow patients wherever care is delivered. In this context, Bupa CareConnect has taken a clear step to strengthen how care is planned, delivered, and experienced across virtual, home, and physical settings.
The healthcare delivery arm of Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance has partnered with InterSystems to implement the InterSystems TrakCare® unified health information system as the backbone of its growing care ecosystem. The platform will support Bupa CareConnect’s virtual clinic, home healthcare services, and upcoming physical clinics, creating a single digital foundation that connects every stage of the patient journey.
For Bupa CareConnect, the objective is to offer a seamless continuum of care that feels consistent whether a patient is booking a teleconsultation, receiving treatment at home, or visiting a clinic in person. TrakCare plays a central role in modernising both clinical and administrative workflows, while ensuring alignment with Saudi healthcare regulations and national priorities under Vision 2030.
By bringing services onto one unified platform, Bupa CareConnect is focused on improving accessibility, efficiency, and patient engagement. Members benefit from faster access to care and a more consistent experience, from appointment booking through to follow-up, without the disruption of fragmented systems.

The rollout of TrakCare enables Bupa CareConnect to deliver a more connected experience across all its care channels. Virtual consultations, home healthcare visits, and physical clinic appointments are supported by the same core system, allowing care teams to access information easily and maintain continuity throughout the patient journey.
“This partnership marks an important step toward delivering a seamless, digitally connected care experience for our members,” said Dr. Abdullah Khafagy, Executive Director – Medical at Bupa CareConnect, “with TrakCare enabling enhanced quality, efficiency, and accessibility across our virtual, home, and physical care services.”
Beyond daily care delivery, the implementation supports interoperability with third-party systems, helping Bupa CareConnect build integrated care pathways while maintaining strong governance. The cloud-enabled architecture is designed to scale as services expand, while advanced analytics and AI-ready insights support better operational planning, preventive care, and improved patient outcomes.
InterSystems brings deep regional experience to the partnership, including early compliance with Saudi Arabia’s National Platform for Health and Insurance Exchange Services (NPHIES). The platform, led by SEHATI in collaboration with the Cooperative Health Insurance Council and the National Center for Health Information, plays a key role in advancing digital healthcare across the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030.
“We are proud to partner with Bupa CareConnect to deliver a future-ready health information system,” said Ali Abi Raad, Managing Director, Middle East, India & South Africa, InterSystems. “TrakCare provides the secure, interoperable, and analytics-rich platform BCC needs to scale innovative models of care today —and for AI-enabled capabilities that will further personalise care and elevate outcomes across the Kingdom.”
The partnership builds on Bupa CareConnect’s expanding footprint across Saudi Arabia. Today, the organisation delivers care through the 24/7 Bupa Digital Clinic, the Kingdom’s leading telemedicine service, conducting around 1,500 consultations daily across 20 specialities. Its home healthcare services support more than 123,000 patients annually across 10 cities, while workplace health programmes bring medical services directly to employers and their teams.
At the same time, Bupa CareConnect is investing in physical infrastructure, with flagship clinics in Riyadh and Jeddah equipped with MRI, laboratory, pharmacy, and physiotherapy services. Focused on chronic and musculoskeletal care, the network is set to grow to six locations by 2026.
Together, Bupa CareConnect and InterSystems are shaping a more connected model of healthcare delivery—one where digital systems quietly support clinicians, empower patients, and make care more accessible across the Kingdom.
As healthcare providers across the region continue to invest in connected, interoperable systems, conversations around digital infrastructure, care delivery models, and regulatory alignment are becoming increasingly central. These themes will be explored further at MedTech World Middle East | Dubai, taking place from 11 to 13 February 2026, where healthcare leaders, technology providers, and policymakers will come together to discuss how digital platforms are influencing the next phase of healthcare delivery in the region.
