CES 2025: Advancing MedTech for a Healthier Tomorrow

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, held from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas, once again proved its status as a global hub for technological innovation. This year, MedTech took center stage, with groundbreaking advancements in digital health capturing the attention of attendees from around the world. MedTech World’s team was on the ground, exploring the latest trends, technologies, and opportunities that CES had to offer.

Pioneering Companies Addressing Unmet Medical Needs

A highlight of CES 2025 was the increasing presence of MedTech companies addressing critical healthcare gaps. Among the standout exhibitors was Kemtai, an AARP-backed startup revolutionizing remote physical therapy. Their app uses advanced tracking to measure body and limb positions, enabling precise rehabilitation guidance from the comfort of a patient’s home.

Mobility robotics also made waves, with Cosmo Robotics unveiling new solutions aimed at enhancing mobility for individuals with physical challenges. Meanwhile, RadiRad Japan showcased innovative remote medical care systems, illustrating how technology can extend healthcare access to underserved populations.

Withings made a notable impact with their IoT-enabled body measurement devices, capable of transmitting real-time health data to providers. Their presence at multiple booths highlighted the growing role of interconnected devices in healthcare delivery.

The Role of AI in Transforming MedTech

Artificial intelligence emerged as a key theme at CES, integrated into solutions ranging from patient condition assessments to real-time analytics of body metrics. Companies like RadiRad and Kemtai demonstrated how AI-driven platforms can enhance patient outcomes and expand beyond clinical settings to mainstream applications.

Reflecting on these trends, Yulia Yurevich, Head of Client Relations and Partnerships at MedTech World, noted, “CES 2025 highlighted how MedTech is becoming increasingly patient-centric, with technologies designed not just for clinical use but for everyday life. What struck me most was the emphasis on empowering individuals to take control of their health through accessible, data-driven solutions, bridging the gap between innovation and real-world impact.”

Regulatory Challenges and Opportunities

Damon Lewis, Partner Intellectual Property at Hogan Lovells, shared his perspective on the regulatory hurdles such innovations face. “Artificial intelligence presents intellectual property challenges, as patent and copyright law are wishboned between rigid application of their old ways and the flexibility required of these rapidly changing fields. Technologians rarely wait for the law to catch up to be inventive,” he remarked.

As the MedTech industry evolves, navigating intellectual property protection, data privacy, and compliance with global market regulations will be crucial for sustained growth. CES showcased how companies are not just innovating but also tackling these challenges head-on.

The Growing Consumerization of MedTech

A recurring theme at CES was the shift toward MedTech products designed for home use, enabling consumers to take charge of their health. From IoT-enabled health monitors to AI-guided rehabilitation apps, the intersection of MedTech and consumer electronics is redefining how healthcare is delivered.

“More and more devices and apps demonstrated at CES in the medical field are intended for home-use outside of hospitals or doctor’s offices,” added Lewis. “In many markets, patients and other individuals may ask for a particular product by name, making them consumers. Demonstrating these products at the world’s largest consumer electronics show can only benefit these companies and grow their exposure. The MedTech area of CES grows every year, it is hard to imagine it slowing.”

Dr. Dylan Attard, CEO of MedTech World also mentioned: “CES has become a vital platform for showcasing how MedTech companies are bridging the gap between clinical solutions and consumer technology, making advanced healthcare accessible to everyone, everywhere. By demonstrating solutions that bring healthcare out of traditional settings and into the hands of patients, companies can elevate their impact and visibility on a global scale. This shift isn’t just about accessibility, it’s about empowering individuals with tools that align with the precision and reliability once reserved for the clinic, fundamentally improving the patient experience and the future of healthcare delivery.

MedTech World’s Commitment to Innovation

As part of its mission to drive global healthcare advancements, MedTech World’s presence at CES 2025 reinforced its commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the industry. The event provided invaluable insights into emerging trends and a platform to connect with pioneering companies and thought leaders. “The presence of Asian companies, particularly from South Korea, at CES this year was outstanding and underscores the region’s growing leadership in MedTech innovation. South Korea continues to drive advancements at the forefront of technology, and we are excited to deepen our engagement in the region with our upcoming Roadshow in Seoul later this year. It’s an exciting opportunity to strengthen global collaboration in shaping the future of healthcare”, mentioned Dr. Attard.

Looking ahead, MedTech World is excited to integrate the lessons learned at CES into its initiatives and events, ensuring that the latest innovations continue to reach global audiences. The intersection of technology and healthcare, as demonstrated at CES 2025, holds immense potential to transform lives—a vision that MedTech World remains dedicated to championing.
