Dr. Dylan Attard Takes Centre Stage at LEAP 2025

On February 10, Dr. Dylan Attard, Co-founder and CEO of MedTech World, joined some of the most influential voices in health technology at LEAP 2025, where he spoke on the panel ‘The New Health Stack: Apps, Analytics & Automation.’ Sharing insights alongside Basim Albeladi, Founder and CEO of Labayh, the leading mental health startup in MENA, and moderator Faisal Albaraiki, Chief Commercial Officer of Clinicy, Dr. Attard explored the transformative role of digital health affecting healthcare access, affordability, and patient outcomes.

A Booming Market for MedTech in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s medical technology sector is on a strong growth trajectory, with projected revenues expected to reach US$7.63 billion in 2025. This signals significant investment opportunities in health innovation, aligning with MedTech World’s ambition to foster industry collaborations, expand its global footprint, and support the development of next-generation healthcare solutions in the region. Dr. Attard’s participation at LEAP 2025 highlights MedTech World’s commitment to engaging with regional stakeholders and driving forward the conversation on digital health transformation.

Bridging Healthcare Gaps Through Innovation

During the panel discussion, Dr. Attard emphasized how technology is bridging gaps in healthcare access by enabling telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and AI-driven diagnostics. “Health tech is not just about innovation, it’s about equity. By leveraging AI, automation, and data analytics, we can create a system that is more accessible, cost-effective, and ultimately, patient centered.”

Balancing Data Collection and Privacy

With digital health solutions becoming more data-driven, the discussion also touched upon the delicate balance between data collection and patient privacy. Dr. Attard stressed, “Ensuring adherence to GDPR and HIPAA is fundamental. We must also implement privacy-enhancing technologies like end-to-end encryption, decentralized data models, and AI bias safeguards to build trust and security within digital health ecosystems.”

Automation’s Role in Patient Safety

Automation is playing a vital role in reducing medical errors and improving patient safety. Dr. Attard explained, “AI-driven clinical decision support helps prevent medication errors, while automated documentation ensures accuracy by reducing manual entry mistakes. AI-powered imaging diagnostics significantly improve accuracy in radiology and pathology, leading to better patient outcomes.”

The Power of Predictive Analytics

When discussing analytics in healthcare, Dr. Attard pointed to real-world applications where predictive models are driving better patient outcomes. “Predictive analytics enables early intervention for high-risk patients, preventing complications from conditions like sepsis and stroke. AI-powered hospital resource management optimizes ER wait times and staffing, ensuring better efficiency. Remote monitoring solutions have also been instrumental in reducing hospital readmissions for chronic diseases.”

Lessons in Collaboration

Closing the session, Dr. Attard reflected on key lessons learned from working with clinicians, patients, and policymakers. “Interoperability is crucial—siloed systems hinder collaboration, and seamless data exchange is vital. Clinician buy-in is essential because technology should reduce, not add to, their workload. Trust and transparency drive adoption; open communication with all stakeholders leads to better outcomes.”
