Palm Beach, Florida – The MedTech World North America Summit began today at the Hilton West Palm Beach, bringing together leaders to discuss new ideas in healthcare. Dr Dylan Attard, CEO and co-founder of MedTech World, gave the opening address, and H.E. Dr Godfrey Carmel Xuereb, Malta’s Ambassador to the United States, delivered the keynote speech. Both speakers stressed the importance of collaboration in solving global healthcare challenges.
In his opening address, Dr Dylan Attard talked about his journey from working in clinical medicine to starting MedTech World. He explained that, as a surgeon, seeing inefficiencies in healthcare inspired him to create this global platform.
“We are not here just to talk about healthcare; we are here to shape it together,” said Dr Attard. He reflected on the importance of connecting the right founders, investors, and clinical teams to tackle the critical issues facing the healthcare system. “The answer to closing healthcare gaps lies in connection,” he added.
MedTech World began in Malta and has since grown into North America, leveraging the region’s active healthcare community. “This is exactly where this conversation belongs,” Attard said, highlighting the opportunities for teamwork and new ideas in Palm Beach.
The keynote speech by H.E. Dr Godfrey Carmel Xuereb highlighted Malta’s commitment to fostering international healthcare collaboration. Dr Xuereb spoke about MedTech World’s role in promoting Maltese innovation and advancing healthcare solutions on the global stage.

“MedTech World is not just showcasing Maltese innovation, it is creating pathways for joint research, clinical trials, and technology transfers,” said Dr Xuereb. He praised the summit for fostering strong relationships among Maltese and North American healthcare leaders.
Dr Xuereb also discussed the challenges of working with North America’s complex healthcare regulations. He pointed out that MedTech World supports making rules more consistent. “Their work in advocating for streamlined procedures and mutual recognition agreements is setting a standard for global collaboration,” he explained.
The first day of the MedTech World North America Summit demonstrated the importance of working together to improve healthcare. Over the next two days, the summit will cover topics such as digital health, telemedicine, and pandemic preparedness, as innovators and investors from around the world look ahead to what’s next for healthcare.
Dr Attard said, “We connect the people building the future of healthcare with the capital, the right partners, and the clinical relationships they need to get there.” The MedTech World North America Summit is a strong platform for encouraging new ideas and teamwork, helping to shape healthcare’s future.
