Sanara MedTech Inc. is putting its vision for smarter, more efficient wound care into practice with the launch of a pilot program through its subsidiary, Tissue Health Plus (THP). The program, which began in the second quarter of 2025, is designed to bring value-based care principles to the chronic wound space—one of the costliest and most complex areas in healthcare.
The pilot is being carried out in partnership with a wound care provider group delivering at-home care across six states. Instead of layering tech onto existing workflows, THP is positioning its platform as the backbone of a new care model, one that uses AI, virtual coordination, and integrated data systems to support real-world clinical decisions while keeping reimbursement and administrative needs in check.

At the center of the pilot is THP’s Co-Pilot software, designed to streamline everything from clinical protocols to billing processes. The goal is to standardize care, support better outcomes, and reduce the burdens that often deter providers from moving into value-based models.
“We are pleased to announce that, during the second quarter, THP launched a pilot program in partnership with a wound care provider group delivering at-home care for chronic wounds across six states,” said Sam Muppalla, President and CEO of THP, in a statement. “Through this initiative, the THP technology platform will serve as the provider group’s Wound Care Operating System. The group’s practitioners are leveraging THP’s Co-Pilot software offering to standardize patient encounter planning and treatment interventions, while ensuring compliance with reimbursement requirements. Additionally, the practitioners are utilizing the platform’s two-way integration with the group’s electronic medical record to streamline post-encounter administrative processes.”
The platform isn’t just about clinical guidelines—it’s about practical application. That means offering a digital assistant that understands the complex web of care standards, documentation rules, and billing requirements clinicians navigate daily.“With respect to our goals for the pilot program, we believe the real-world experience gained through these patient encounters will enable us to further validate and optimize our THP technology platform,” Muppalla added. “The wound care provider group has commenced the first patient encounters as part of this pilot program, and we look forward to expanding its use within the group to include additional practitioners and locations.”

Chronic wound care is a staggering financial burden—topping $100 billion annually in the U.S.—yet current healing rates often fall below 66%. THP is aiming to change that with a model it says can boost healing rates to over 85% while reducing total care costs by 25% or more.
For Sanara’s leadership, this pilot is about laying the groundwork for long-term transformation.
“The initiation of our wound care provider pilot program represents an important milestone in our THP strategy, and we look forward to leveraging the data and feedback obtained through the real-world use of our THP technology platform to support its successful implementation,” stated Ron Nixon, Sanara’s Executive Chairman and CEO. “In addition to this initiative, we remain acutely focused on engaging with payers – with the goal of launching a THP pilot program with a payer during the second half of this year – as well as with potential financial partners to invest in the execution of our THP strategy.”
Mr. Nixon continued: “We are pleased with THP’s performance and progress, and we look forward to sharing a full company update on our earnings call, which we intend to hold on August 13, 2025.”
As THP continues to onboard more practitioners and expand its pilot footprint, it’s clear the company sees this as a testbed for national rollout. If its model can prove cost-effective and clinically impactful, it may offer a compelling alternative to the fragmented, fee-for-service wound care strategies still common today.
