Men’s sexual health is still something many avoid talking about, even though these issues are far more common than most people realize. For many men, stigma, embarrassment, and cultural expectations delay care until the situation becomes serious. Sequoia, a growing digital-health platform dedicated to male sexual wellness, aims to change that.
In a recent conversation with MedTech World, Sequoia’s Founder and CEO, Dzianis Halka, shared his personal story that had inspired him to build the app, the science behind its approach, and his vision for the future of men’s health.

Dzianis’s journey started with a health issue he experienced at 23. What started as mild discomfort after a cold soon evolved into pelvic pain that affected his daily life and intimacy.
“I didn’t want to see a doctor. I felt ashamed and hoped it would go away,” he said. “Even after I got better, I kept wondering—why was I embarrassed? Why is this so hard for men to talk about?”
These questions laid the foundation for Sequoia: a product he wishes he had back then – private, accurate, and free from stigma.
Sexual health issues are far more common than most people think. Globally, a large proportion of men experience some form of sexual dysfunction over their lives. Most stay silent because of stigma, misconceptions, and the mindset of ‘Men don’t cry’. That gap is what drives Sequoia’s mission.
“We started by focusing on erectile health,” Dzianis explained. “Today, our goal is broader: helping men build long-term habits and a healthier relationship with their own bodies.”
Understanding male sexual health requires both medical and technical knowledge, so Dzianis set out to bring together experts who could support Sequoia from both sides.
Dr. Volha Neudakh: A psychiatrist and sexologist with 12 years of experience, she has treated more than 2,000 men and leads Sequoia’s medical team. Her clinical background—especially seeing how often patients forgot or avoided keeping traditional health diaries. That insight directly informed the app’s design, content strategy, and core algorithms.
Aliaksei Saskevich: With a master’s degree in informatics and 11 years of experience in building apps used by millions, Aliaksei brings deep technical expertise. He guides Sequoia’s platform architecture, cybersecurity, and machine-learning development.
Together, the trio drives Sequoia’s vision: combining medical expertise, behavioural science, and reliable technology into a tool that genuinely supports men’s health.
Stigma remains the biggest barrier in men’s sexual health. “If a man has neck or back pain, he goes to the doctor. But with pelvic pain? He avoids it,” Dzianis said.
To address this, Sequoia delivers private and accessible care through a mobile app, allowing users to check their sexual-health status, receive personalised recommendations, follow guided exercises, and track progress anonymously.
The team also discovered that many men hesitate to share the app with friends, limiting organic growth. Interestingly, women often show more openness when discussing men’s health, leading Sequoia to test outreach strategies targeting female partners.
Retention presents another challenge. “Men want instant results. But we’re not Viagra. Real change takes at least 21 days,” Dzianis explained. This understanding inspired new gamification features aimed at keeping users engaged through the full program.
Sequoia offers three core modes designed to support different aspects of men’s health:
Users start with a screening survey based on validated tools like IIEF, receive a personalised health report, and follow a structured 21-day programme consisting of physical routines, psychological techniques, and lifestyle adjustments.
A library of more than 200 doctor-created articles works alongside with an AI-driven recommendation engine. If a user logs symptoms, the app suggests personalized recommendations and relevant education materials.
Sequoia intentionally avoids “macho” language. Instead, it focuses on health, evidence, and sustainable progress. The intention is clear: support men without reinforcing harmful stereotypes.
For deeper personalisation, the platform also offers online consultations—especially those in remote or culturally underserved communities—access to qualified clinicians.
A built-in Regular Checkup feature supports preventive care by guiding men through on age-appropriate tests and screenings.

All tests and exercise programs within Sequoia are backed by clinical evidence and reviewed by the medical team. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Volha Neudakh, oversees all medical content, ensuring it meets international guidelines standards and best practices.
On the privacy front, Sequoia follows a strict data-protection approach:
Chief Technology Officer Aliaksei Saskevich is consistently focused on enhancing the technical foundation that underpins both product security and the protection of user data.
The response from users has been strong. With a 4.7 App Store rating and over 550 reviews, Sequoia has quickly built trust among men seeking discreet, evidence-based support.
Clinical data echoes that enthusiasm. In an internal study, 79% of users reported noticeable improvements within just one month—a result the team shared at the World Meeting for Sexual Medicine in Dubai in 2023.
From a clinical standpoint, that makes sense.
“Men who use the app stick to their treatment much more consistently,” Dr. Neudakh explained. “That adherence improves recovery by roughly 30%.”

Sequoia collaborates with leading academic institutions including the University of Rome Tor Vergata on research exploring orgasm and related areas of male sexual health. The app acts as a secure, anonymous data-collection platform, helping researchers access high-quality real-world insights.
The company also partners with global health organisations such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS). Together, they co-develop educational resources and contribute expertise to international sexual-health initiatives.

“Awareness leads to healthier habits and early intervention,” Dzianis said. The team strongly believes that sexual education should begin in childhood, to help prevent the silence, fear, and misinformation that many men face as adults.
Technology, he adds, plays a central role in reshaping the conversation.
“It creates a safe space. It allows people to learn without shame.”
Sequoia’s long-term ambition is to become a comprehensive men’s health platform, expanding into hormonal, metabolic, and preventive care while keeping sexual health at its core.
Over the next five years, the company aims to deepen its clinical partnerships, publish real-world outcomes, and build a strong presence across Europe and the United States. The goal is to shine a light on areas of men’s health that have been overlooked for decades.
In the short term, Sequoia is focused on enhancing user engagement through gamification. The team expects retention to reach 10% and aims to onboard more than 100 new paying users each month.
Presenting at MedTech Malta 2025 marked a significant milestone for Sequoia, offering the team a global stage to share its mission.
For Dzianis, it was an opportunity to spotlight a major gap in healthcare: while women’s health innovation continues to expand, men’s health solutions remain limited and underserved.
For Aliaksei, the event was a chance to engage with peers on interoperability, security standards, and building scalable digital infrastructures – fresh ideas will drive the next stage of the product’s evolution.
For Dr. Neudakh, Malta represented a unique blend of clinical expertise and the latest digital health innovation, a combination that reflects Sequoia’s own approach.

The conversation doesn’t end here. In 2026, MedTech World will host four flagship gatherings across the globe, each designed to bring innovators, investors, clinicians, and industry leaders together to discuss the ideas and technologies driving progress in healthcare.
